Dr. Darel A. Butler graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in biology, cum laude. He completed his medical degree and residency at the University of California, San Francisco. He contributed to the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine awarded to Dr. Stanley Prusiner for prions as well as worked in Paris in the laboratory of Dr. François Gros, the discovery of the main component of coronaviruses, mRNA, under the supervision of Dr. Dominique Lazar. He has numerous honors and accolades.
